Whipsnade Zoo - Bird Garden

A rare opportunity to see 'behind the scenes' in the Bird Garden and find out about the unique species we have in this area. Not open to general visitors you will get to see behind the scenes in our bird garden and discover the unique challenges of breeding some of the more unusual species from one of our resident bird experts. 

Lasting 45 minutes with just 8 people in a group you will get a unique insight into the work that goes into looking after our feathery friends.

• Admission to the zoo is not included and must be purchased separately 
• Participants must be 10 years of age or older.
• All participants must wear closed toe shoes and use an antiseptic foot dip before accessing behind the scenes areas.
• Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult - the adult must also have a valid Behinds the Scenes tour ticket.
• Pregnant or nursing mothers who have given birth within the previous six months cannot participate 
• Participants with learning or visual impairment must be accompanied by a carer. Accompanying carers can enter the behind the scenes area free of charge
• If you require wheelchair access please contact us before booking.
• Those with disabilities can be accompanied by an essential carer to support them during their experience. Essential carers can enter the experience area free of charge but do not take part in the experience. Should you require an essential carer please put this information in the participant information form at checkout.
